A Bit of History
Wendell Falk, Jim's dad, was a certified seed grower for Munson Seed in Benson MN for many years. Jim became a member of Minnesota Crop Improvement Association in 1983 and started building the seed cleaning plant at the Falk farm in 1985. The evolution of Falk's Seed Farm is all about the continued effort to add facilities and equipment to provide better products and services for our customers. Our commitment to embracing the latest technology took a big leap in 2001, when FSF installed the first robotic palletizing system in the USA. We have never looked back, and now our processing plant has the most advanced "state of the art" equipment, including a color sorter, and the most sophisticated PLC (programable logics controller), computer automation software, that runs our seed plant automatically using computer controls for operations and monitoring.

We have been exporting food-grade and organic crops to the Asian market for about 30 years. The grower premiums are very good for those farmers that can deliver a quality product for the food market. Research Plots at FSF
At Falk's Seed Farm, on farm research plots have been an important focus as we strive to identify varieties that are best suited for our region by doing those trials on our farm. We are looking at both public and private breeding programs in our research.
